I am looking for a way to pull HL7 messages from a Hematology device. We can setup the device to automatically send the every sample result output to a specified IP address and port. This is our first try to do the interfacing.
My question is : how is usually an HL7 messages being sent from a device ?
Is the messages sent like a a single File for every messages ?
or
Do we have to retrieve it as stream of characters where we have to detect for the HL7 Headers and footer ?
