Remember when the progressives scoffed at conservatives for pointing out that Obamacare would lead to rationing and death panels?
Ezekiel Emanuel, the architect of Obamacare and brother of former Obama chief of staff Rahm Emanuel now boldly states that he felt his life would be complete at age 75. Dr. Emanuel is director of the Clinical Bioethics Department at the U.S. National Institutes of Health. and recently penned a ghoulish piece for The Atlantic magazine. He is, at the time of his declaration last month, he is a healthy 57-year-old ……….. His article is titled "Why I Hope to Die at 75 - An argument that society and families—and you—will be better off if nature takes its course swiftly and promptly"
He writes:
“…...living too long is also a loss. It renders many of us, if not disabled, then faltering and declining, a state that may not be worse than death but is nonetheless deprived. It robs us of our creativity and ability to contribute to work, society, the world. It transforms how people experience us, relate to us, and, most important, remember us. We are no longer remembered as vibrant and engaged but as feeble, ineffectual, even pathetic.”
I wonder if he’ll have a change of heart at age 74….. ? *
Then we have Professor Jonathan Gruber, the other Obamacare architect who bragged about deceiving the “stupid” American people to secure passage of the bill, has been paid an estimated $5.2 million by the federal government and 12 state governments for consulting services to assist in the design and implementation of the Affordable Care Act.*
Gruber’s Obamacare-related financial bonanza is based, in part, on the ubiquitous use of his proprietary "Gruber Microsimulation Model" in virtually every executive and legislative entity involved in the design and implementation of Obamacare: the White House, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Congressional Budget Office (which is charged with providing Congress “independent” analysis of the impact of proposed legislation), and most state governments.
At a town hall meeting, broadcast from the White House East Room by ABC news, a woman named Jane Sturm told the story of her elderly mother, was told by an arrhythmia specialist that she was too old for a pacemaker. She ended up getting a second option, and the operation, for which Ms. Sturm credits her survival to 105 years.
President Obama said…."Look, the first thing for all of us to understand that is we actually have some -- some choices to make about how we want to deal with our own end-of-life care," Mr. Obama replied. After discussing ways "we as a culture and as a society [can start] to make better decisions within our own families and for ourselves," he continued that in general "at least we can let doctors know and your mom know that, you know what? Maybe this isn't going to help. Maybe you're better off not having the surgery, but taking the painkiller."
*Obama shows himself not only to have no understanding of medicine, life, or the science of improving people's lives, but no empathy for those of us who have life threatening illnesses that require immediate medical intervention.

A hooligeezer is a wise, crusty, sincere, generally cantankerous, sometimes badly-behaved man or woman over the age of 50 who loves to drink adult beverages, ride off road, and blow up things. A hooligeezer loves to camp in remote locations and will gather with like minded folks who have similar proclivities. Hooligeezers will never camp or associate with blue hairs.
