Filter with multiple values

Is there a way to build a filter that uses the data in an external file as it values filter by? I need to filter HL7 messages based on if the message is for certain patients. I have an Excel spread sheet of these allowed patients (about 200 patients) and I want to match based on their Patient ID. Since the list is so long, I didn't want to have to enter each patient id individually into a filter. If there is a way to have it look at the file or to copy and paste all of the Patient IDs in at one time.
