So about three or four weeks ago I was in my apartment trying to tighten down handlebars on my road bike because they had slipped while I was riding. After tightening the bolt on them I out my weight on them to test whether they would slip again. Sure enough the handlebars did slip and my body weight came down on my right bare foot and I kinda toe jammed into the floor.
For the first three days there was significant swelling on the middle toe and I was limping quite a bit. Since then most of the color has returned to the toe, I can walk normally but the toe is still red, there is also a dark spot kind of at the base of the toe. While I'm not in a lot of pain, if I walk very far it gets sore, running is out of the question, and even cycling very much starts to hurt. I want to work out and be active and I'm becoming frustrated by the lack of progress in recovering from this injury. Could there be a fracture? Should I get it x-rayed? Is there much that can be done if it is fractured?
Any help would be much appreciated , thanks!
