About six months ago my foot had an unfortunate encounter with a very powerful floor buffer... bare footed... I know, not on my list of smart ideas. It caused several abrasions, but also hit the top of my foot, just about where the first metatarsal and first cuneiform meet, or the bridge of my foot. It was excruciating at first and I immediately iced it and took ibuprofen, but after the initial shock I was able to walk on it. Now factor in that I have a pretty high tolerance to pain and tend not to go to the doctor unless I warrant a prescription being needed... so no, I did not seek medical attention at the time... Again, not one of my best decisions. It continued to hurt pretty badly for approximately six to eight weeks, but it never swelled, and because I was able to walk on it, I figured it probably wasn't broken, and there wouldn't be anything that a doctor could do for it. It eventually stopped hurting and I pretty much forgot about it. Now suddenly, six months later, it has started to hurt again off and on, with no new trauma to bring it on. The pain isn't quite the same either. It will ache and feel like cold water has been poured on it, almost like pins and needles, but cool.
I feel like an idiot going to the doctor now, but is just so irritating...
Any ideas and advice would be appreciated, thank you
