I'm just about done reading the book "American Sniper" by Chris Kyle. There is no doubt that this guy was one patriotic bad ass killing machine. As I follow the trial of his professed psychotic murderer, I can't help but ask some basic questions:
Has there been any discussion of why these two trained Seals would even consider allowing Eddie Routh close to a gun let alone close to them with guns? How about maybe taking him bowling or a little round of miniature golf?
There is no doubt that Kyle is a badd a$$, but it doesn't seem real smart to hand a psychotic person a loaded gun especially when he secretly texted Chad Littlefield (Also shot and killed), sitting next to him in a pickup, to say Routh was "straight up nuts" (this came from trial testimony). Maybe they should have done a bit of due diligence and this could have been avoided.
