My boyfriend and I knew each other for 6 years but we just started dating about a year ago when my mom finally let me when I turned 18. After a while we started dating, I brought my boyfriend home to have dinner with my family and my mom got to meet him. After he went home my mom asked me why I was dating an ugly guy and told me I should date him because she thinks he looks hideous. My mom keeps telling me she wants me to date a guy who is good looking IN HER OPINION so that she will have beautiful grandchildren and she said if the guy is ugly then her grandchildren will be ugly. So I told my mom that he's a really sweet, kind and caring person but my mom thinks "looks" are more important than "personality" but I have to disagree with her. I'd rather spend my life with a kind hearted human being but not as attractive instead of someone who is attractive but selfish and rude.
So basically my mom told me to breakup with him just because she thinks he's ugly and she said if I end up getting married with him she will not even attend the wedding and forbid us to have children but like I'm an adult I'm 19 does my mom have the right to do this?
