My airconditioner is not working. The auto stopped working

The auto stopped working and the fan would freeze the outside up. Then it all stopped working. The outside would only come on for a few minutes and the blower motor fan starts and slows down and keeps doing that. I replaced the thermostat and that didn't work. Now when I turn it on the blower motor starts and slows and gains speed and slows over and over.
