Hi All!
About a year ago we became parents to (now)Lily, a beagle with a hint of possible bloodhound/basset in her (slightly droopy eyes and spots/freckles on her legs and muzzle). The shelter could tell us very little about her since they'd only had her about a week. Things seemed to be going ok until a few weeks ago. Something has caused her to be fearful? of the grass in our backyard. She walks the gravel paths around the fence line and back side of the house, only going in the grass to get to another part of gravel. On walks, and in our front yard she's perfectly fine going into the grass. We don't use anything on our yard nor has anything changed in it. Unfortunately this also means it is now very much a struggle getting her to potty outside. Just this past Saturday she peed in our bed. I don't know if she did it there so we would find it, or if it was truly an accident, but she'd been out twice in the past two hours and done nothing in the yard but sniff the borders. It seems I'm back at square one with potty training. Any tips on how to get her over her 'fear' of the grass without knowing what caused it? Thanks!
